Dreams quote #10
“The most pitiful among men is he who turns his dreams into silver and gold.”
–Kahlil Gibran
I thought that I would close the dreams quotes series (or at least the first “dreams quotes” series!) with a quote that relates dreams to money.
Do you think that it is pitiful to equate dreams with silver and gold? I know that for myself, one of my dreams is to be financially free, which could be easily equated to money. However, I don’t dream of being rich as much as I dream of the freedom from the shackles of money. Our family would have the time and energy to pursue more worthwhile endeavors, in my opinion.
I have a relative, however, who equates his happiness with nothing but money. He ignores his family and other leisurely pursuits, and is obsessed with money. To me, he is really pathetic.
What about you? What are your thoughts on dreams and money? Is it acceptable to have “Donald Trump” dreams?

This has been one of my biggest challenges in life, happiness or money. I think you need both. Because if one is missing, your life is not complete. But achieving both is so hard to do sometimes. And it is that one time when you have to choose between one or the other, that can mess your whole life up. Because sometimes other people do not see your decision the same as your do. I say this because I lost the love of my life over money. I am 42 and was with her for 23 years, since I was 17. We split up two years ago over a financial decision that went bad. Although it was corrected a cpl of months after we split, it was too late. Sorry about the long comment LOL. Nice quotes here.
